Science at School

There have been many fun experiments taking place throughout the school so far this year… here are some examples from the Primary and Secondary pupils.

The P1’s and P2’s made mouse rockets and investigated how different forces acted on their rockets when they launched them.

P1’s did an amazing job on their “lung Projects” understanding how our lungs work when we breath.

P3-4 Class investigating how to produce static electricity through friction.

P1-4…..all it takes to understand our digestive system is 1 sandwich bag, a slice of bread and some orange juice. Mixed all together makes one very amazing example of what happens to our food when in our stomachs. Well done melville Knox scientists!

P5-7s measuring lung capacity with a spirometer during biology class with a Dutch secondary teacher.

S1 and 2 scientists learned about the differences between glucose and starch, and how to chemically test for them.

Electrolysis of copper sulfate solution in S3 chemistry.
