Race into Reading Challenge
For our last 6 weeks of school we have set the pupils a reading challenge. How many books can they read? They each have their own personal reading log where they record which books they have read and complete a book review. We record their progress by moving their counters round on our racing course board. There are fun prizes after reading 1 book, 3 books, 5 books, 10 books, 15 books, 20 books, and 25 books. There may even be a prize for the person who reads the most pages.
We’re thankful for Rachel and Nicki, students from Geneva College, who made our reading logs and racing board. They have been studying on Geneva College’s Semester in Scotland programme since January and came into our school for three days to volunteer. Rachel and Nicki were a great help each day they came. Our pupils really enjoyed getting to meet them.
Geneva College is a Christian university in Beaver Falls, PA in the USA. Geneva College is committed to teaching from a Biblical worldview. Find out more about Geneva College here and about its Semester in Scotland programme here.
Join us in our reading challenge. Unfortunately, the prizes are only for Sunrise pupils!
