Kelvingrove Campus Staff

Miss Brough (Deputy Head Teacher)

Miss Brough first served on the Melville-Knox School Board and is now the Deputy Head of Primary at Kelvingrove.  She studied Law at Cambridge University and then gained her PGCE from the Institute of Education in London and taught in a London school.  She then trained at the Cornhill Training Course.  Since then she has led the children’s and youth work at the Tron Church for over 20 years and is now enjoying applying all of that background to the new environment of a Christian school.  She is seconded to serve in Melville-Knox by The Tron Church.

Mrs MacKenzie (Teacher)

Mrs MacKenzie joined Melville-Knox Christian School in 2023. She studied at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and graduated in 2022 with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. She moved to Glasgow from Alaska in 2022. She and her husband became members of St Silas Church in Glasgow, where her husband now works as a Ministry Trainee. Mrs MacKenzie has worked with children in Christian summer camps, youth groups, after-school programs and in classrooms since 2016 and is joyful for the opportunity to use her experience to teach the children at Melville-Knox, Kelvingrove campus.

Mrs Kerr (Teacher)

Mrs Kerr joined Melville-Knox, Kelvingrove in 2023. She qualified as a Primary Teacher, with a Bachelor of Education degree, in 1986 and is registered with the GTCS. She feels there is a great need for Christian influence in education today and is happy to play a small part in this at Melville-Knox. She is married with two grown up children and is a member of The Tron Church in Glasgow.

Mrs Markoff (Teacher)

Mrs Markoff holds a BA Hons degree in Child and Youth studies and a PGDE in Primary Education from the University of Glasgow. She taught at an international school in Shanghai as a supply teacher. After nine years in China she moved to the Isle of Lewis where she volunteered as a classroom assistant in an Independent Christian School. Mrs Markoff has now been teaching at Melville-Knox Christian school since August 2021 and registered with the GTCS. She and Mr Markoff have five children and are members of Hamilton Baptist Church.

Mrs Power-Higgins (Classroom Assistant and Administrator)

Mrs Power-Higgins is an early years trained practitioner with a wealth of experience in working with children gained from teaching in Sunday schools through to working in nurseries and classroom settings. 

Mrs Power-HIggins’ passions lie within her faith, the arts and bringing creative play through learning. Mrs Power-Higgins has a degree in fashion and textiles gained from the University of Ulster. She attends Ardgowan Evangelical church in Greenock with her family.
