End of Year Winter Cafe Report
All the hard work of preparing for the last of the year event has paid off. The Winter cafe was a great success! We had many visitors from family and friends who came to see our school, have a lunch with us and enjoy a performance from the pupils. Parents and staff brought delicious soups and home baking and worked hard as a team at serving probably the largest number of guests we have ever had on a single fundraising event! We are so grateful to all who came and supported our school on that day.
While parents were hard at work looking after the cafe, the children did a marvellous job at entertaining the visitors. Some of the pieces were: singing of the Psalm 116, “Head, shoulders, knees and toes “ in French and the younger classes impressed the guests with a song in Gaelic. P4-P6 showcased their recorder skills with presenting a Dutch piece. Well done everyone for being so brave to perform in front of the audience!
During this event we raised over £700 through selling lunches, school calendars and school tea towels designed by the children.
We will certainly think of hosting more events like this to draw a wider community to come together and enjoy the time spent at the school!
