Blair Drummond Safari Park

For our annual school trip this year it was decided that the school would go to Blair Drummond Safari Park. This would be the first trip with Parkhead, Kelvingrove and Secondary school students being altogether. There was a coach organised to accommodate everyone, the driver went to Kelvingrove first to collect the pupils there before heading to Parkhead and collecting the rest of the pupils. There was a LOT of excitement as the coach set off on the journey to the Safari Park.

About 40 minutes later the children arrived at the Safari park but before they departed from the coach it was straight around the safari to see the animals. There were rhinos, antelope, camels, and the lion pride, along with cheeky macaques! It was very fun to see all the different animals and each child had their favourites.

When we got off the bus the children split into their groups and headed towards the area that was pre planned for them to visit. This meant that each group was able to enjoy all the different areas of the safari park, making the most of the day. Everyone met together to have their packed lunch and then headed to the Sea Lion show, it was enjoyable to watch the tricks they could do.

Blair Drummond was a great place to visit for all year groups and there was so much to see and enjoy. The petting area was popular with children as they found it exciting to touch the different animals – they also enjoyed the hand washing station afterwards! It was a special time and many happy memories were made, I am sure the children will remember it for years to come.
