Reformation Day
Both of our Campuses enjoyed a special celebration for Reformation Day on the 31st of October, which was the date in 1517 that Martin Luther nailed his Ninety-Five Thesis to the door of the church in Wittenberg. The year 2026 marks 500 years since William Tyndale published his translation of the New Testament; the first time the Bible had been printed in English.
Children are encouraged to dress as historical figures from the Reformation. We had some great costumes this year, including…

Martin Luther
Andrew Melville

King Henry VIII
Queen Elizabeth I

Patrick Hamilton!
Some of our staff even joined in on the fun, with costumes ranging from Jonathan Edwards, to John Knox, to Johannes Bugenhagen.

Pupils carried out Reformation themed activities in their classes to deepen their understanding of the what the Reformation was, and what it means for us today.
The celebrations were rounded off with some yummy Reformation themed snacks kindly provided by our children and their parents. Pupils feasted on a Diet of Worms cake, 95 Thesis cookies, and Luther’s hammer marshmallows.

Reformation Day is an opportunity to pause and reflect on the work of the men and women whose sacrifice and faith stand as a witness to us today. May we continue to shine the light of Christ’s truth in our school and our world today.
