Quiz Night
The PFA look for different ways to bring the school community together while fundraising for the school, so this year it was suggested to hold a Quiz Night. With positive responses the plans were put in motion -the date set, venue confirmed and a volunteer quiz master!
The Tron Kelvingrove were happy to host the event in their building and January was thought to be a good month to hold a Quiz Night to help blow away those January blues! Parents were encouraged to get a team of 6-8 people together for the quiz and the sign up sheet quickly filled.
On the night there were lots of freshly baked cakes to enjoy along with tea/ coffee or juice. There were 5 rounds of questions – General Knowledge, History, Sport, Music and Bible. There were definitely some challenging questions and lots of conferring between team members as the questions were read out. The answers were given at the end of each round so it gave a good indication as to how well (or poorly), your team was doing!
There was a short interval after the 3rd round and during this time Paul Brennan took the opportunity to share something of the school’s purpose and ways of supporting it as well as showing a video recently produced. For anyone who wasn’t familiar with the school it gave them a good understanding of the school’s vision and purpose to provide Christ centred education throughout Scotland.
At the end of the Quiz the points were totalled and the winning team announced – “We are going to Wynn” took the 1st Place hamper home… as well as all the glory! It was a successful and incredibly fun night which raised a lot of money for the school – Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. We appreciate it greatly.
